About Staci and PHJ

Prestige Hunters and Jumpers LLC is the business entity for Head Trainer / Instructor Staci Fronczek (formerly Staci Hill, pronounced Fron-check). PHJ is based in Enumclaw Washington.

Background

Staci has been riding horses since she was little. Staci's family had horses for her to ride when she was very young. One of her family's first horses was "Tony" a retired circus and parade horse. When Staci was in her teen years she had the opportunity to jump for the first time on a lovely school horse named "Pepperdine" and instantly fell in love with the sport. In no time flat Staci began training extensively in the Hunter Jumper circuit working her way to prominent success on the International "A" Circuit. Staci eventually worked for and toured with Canadian Show Jumping World Champion Ian Millar on the North America Circuit for five years. During this time, Staci acted as personal rider and groom for Mr. Millar's World Class string of Show Jumpers. Along with these duties, Staci was also honored with the responsibity of being the rider, groom, and caretaker of the World Champion Show Jumping horse Big Ben. During this time Staci and Ben were involved in many exciting adventures and experiences with people and businesses all over the world. Staci and Ben were actively involved with the "Make a Wish Foundation." Shortly after Ben passed away in 1999 Staci wrote a heartfelt tribute to this magnificent horse in the February 25, 2000 issue of "The Chronicle of the Horse." The following is an excerpt from Staci's tribute as edited and published in the book titled "An Apple a Day: A Heartwarming Collection of True Horse Stories."

"A private tour of Millar Brooke Farm was granted to a young man with "severe physical challenges" who was also very bright and aware. He was about 12 and used a wheelchair, communicating with a letter board. Ben and Ian Millar were the biggest heroes in the boy's life. When the boy arrived with his family, Big Ben walked out into the arena and the boy's reaction was unforgettable. His arms and legs started moving erratically and banging his chair and he was crying loudly. On his own, Ben approached the boy, put his head up to the boy's face as if to give him a kiss and stayed right there so the boy could pet him. It was the first time in my life that I'd witnessed such professionalism and horsemanship -- and I learned it from a horse, not a human."

Staci expanded her knowledge and skill by working with Canadian Equestrian Team member Jill Henselwood as a rider, instructor and groom. After going out on her own, Staci decided to take a short four year hiatus to enjoy other pursuits in life and take time to get married. Staci and Steve were married May 20th 2006 at a beautiful cozy ceremony surrounded by friends and family. Eventually Staci returned to training horses with the love and support of her husband. Together they established Prestige Hunters and Jumpers LLC to forge Staci's jumping career and to share her experience and wealth of knowledge with aspiring Hunter/Jumper riders and horses. Staci continues her education yearly by attending riding clinics. The following clinitians are just a few she has trained with in the last few years; Susie Hutchison, George Morris, Joe Fargis, and Buddy Brown. Other notable clinicians that Staci studied with in the past were Kevin Freeman and the late Ronnie Mutch.
