Training Rates & Fees

Please note we reserve the right to change Rates and Fees at anytime, the fees presented here are for reference only.
Full Training
$500 per month
To be paid in a calendar month in advance, due before the 1st of every month
Services to be provided:
- 20 training sessions per month
- Hand walking / Lunging
- Grooming / Blanketing / Leg Wraps / Washing
- Mane Pulling / Show Clipping (bridle path, ears, nose, and coronet band)
- Administering prescribed medications (oral, injectable, topical) and supplements (supplies must be provided by owner)
- Scheduling of Veterinarian, Chiropractic, Reiki, Dental, and Farrier Services
- Scheduling of blanket repairs and cleaning (cost for services to be paid by owner)
- Holding of horse for Farrier, Veterinarian, Reiki, Dental, and Chiropractic Services
Items to be provided by Owner:
- Leather halter with brass name plate
- 1 - Working leather bridle with bit (bit to be approved by Staci)
- 1 - Hunter green cotton lead rope
- 2 - Winter blankets, must be indoor/outdoor and waterproof
- 1 - Medium weight indoor/outdoor Spring Sheet waterproof
- 1 - Cotton Sheet
- 1 - (set of 4) white pillow wraps
- 1 - (set of 4) black standing wraps
- Any and all medications and supplements the horse requires
Paperwork that must be completed before training/boarding commences:
- Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement
- PHJ Training contract
- PHJ Medical Release
- Equestrian Center Boarding Agreement (Full board due before the 5th of every month.)
- PHJ Hauling Agreement (optional)
- PHJ Selling Agreement (optional)
- PHJ to fill out all show entry forms
NOTE: All horses in training must undergo scheduled worming, vaccinations, shoeing, and dental work.
NOTE: Owner/Client must be current with board for boarding facility, training fees to PHJ, veterinarian fees to Sport Horse Medicine, and farrier services to John D'Alessandro before the horse will be allowed to leave the boarding facilities.

Partial Training

Haul-In Lessons
$50 per lesson
To be paid at time of lesson
All lessons require a 24-hour cancellation notice in order to fill the riding lesson slot or client will be charged. In the event of inclement weather, clients will be notified of rescheduled date. Make up lessons must be completed within a 60 day period. No credit, reimbursement or carryover after 60 days.
Paperwork that must be completed before training/boarding commences:
- Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement
- PHJ Training contract
- PHJ Medical Release
There will be a $15.00 ring fee payable to the Equestrian Center. Ring fee covers ONE horse per lesson and is due at time of lesson.
NOTE: The parking lot must be cleaned up before leaving the premises.

Show Fees
To be paid directly to Horse Show before end of show.
- $50 per day Daily Trainer Rate - to include all days that the horse is shown, ridden, or client takes schooling lesson. This fee starts the day the horse leaves the Back Forte to cover time of set-up of stalls, tack and feed rooms, unloading, etc.
- $50 - Braiding / $35 - Banding - per mane.
- Tail braiding provided on request. Prices will vary depending on contracted Braider.
- $30 - Catch ride - per horse, per class
- Groom Fee - per day/per horse. Final cost of the groom will be split equally between the number of client horses that physically attend the show. PHJ will provide a groom who will prep and tack up your horse each day for each class. Groom will also bathe, wrap, stud feet, hand walk, and blanket your horse at the end of each day.
- $10 - Stall & Feeding - per horse, per day. This fee is a required. Includes AM cleaning of stall and 1-2 pickings of the stall throughout the day. Also 4 feedings of hay and grain each day.
- Hauling / Trailering - non-commercial, ask for current rates
- Shavings - To be billed at cost
- Stall Fees - To be paid directly to Show at time of pre-entry
- Groom Stall / Tack Stall / Feed Room Fees- Total cost to be split equally between the number of client horses attending show
- Entry Fees - As per the prize list. To be paid directly to the Horse Show before the first class of the Show.
- Hay and grain - If it is necessary to purchase either product during the time of the show, the cost will be split evenly by the number of client horses attending the show.
- Accommodation fees - Trainer travel, food, and housing expenses to be divided by the number of client horses attending show.
- A non-refundable fee of $50 per day, per horse must be paid to PHJ two weeks before the show - If the client pulls the horses out for any reason, this money will not be refunded however they will not be responsible for groom/tack/feed room expenses incurred at the show.

Buying and Selling Services
To be paid on or before service is performed
- Sale Horse Evaluation (Looking at sales horses, fees to be paid whether horse is purchased or not.)
- Local $50.00 a day, plus hotel & travel expenses
- Out of state $100.00 a day, plus hotel & travel expenses
- Sales Commission (Buying or Selling)
12% of final sale or purchase price with minimum of $1000.00.

À la Carte Services
To be paid on or before service is performed
- Clinics - Teaching - Prices vary depending on material to be presented and location of event to be held.
- Clinics - Riding - $45 per horse, per day of clinic. Also transportation, meals, and accommodations to be provided.
- Clinics - Hauling / Trailering - non-commercial, ask for current rates. Diesel cost is split by number of participants attending clinic.
- Body clipping - $150 per horse.
- NOTE: If tranquilizer is needed to clip the horse, this must be provided by the Owner and written permission for the Trainer to administer the drug must be provided as well

- Pulling manes and show clip - $20
- Horse blanket cleaning - Cost paid to Blanket Express. To include scheduling, drop-off and pick-up.
- Groom, lunge, and tack up horse in preparation for a lesson - $15 per lesson. Must have 45 minutes of advance notice.
- Special Care or Extended Layoff - $250 per month. Rehabilitation for horses on an extended recovery from an injury or have to temporarily suspend training. Administering veterinarian prescribed medications (oral, injectable, topical) / Light Riding / Hand walking / Lunging / Bathing / Leg Wraps / Bandage Changes.
- Medical Care - $10 per event for horses not in training with PHJ. Examples of Care are administering veterinarian prescribed medications (oral, injectable, topical) / Bathing / Leg Wraps / Bandage Changes.
- Sales Video Recording - $100 per session/hour. Session includes: horse preparation and presentation for filming, one hour time slot to film, basic editing and burning to DVD or videofile.

Stable Rules
- NO unauthorized or unsupervised jumping.
- Helmets, with chin straps, must be worn by all riders at all times while riding.
- Proper riding attire must be worn at time of practice. Attire includes; boots which cover the ankle with a 1" rubber heel, riding britches, fitted top, and helmet.
- Horses must be properly cooled and cleaned after exercise.
- Tack must be properly cleaned and put away after use.
- Close toed shoes and shirts must be worn at the stables at all times.
- When hauling a horse in or out of the farm, the parking lot must be cleaned before leaving the premises.
- Dogs are not allowed on the stable grounds without prior permission. Those dogs that are granted permission to be on the grounds must be on a leash. The training facility and PHJ will not be liable for any injury or damage that may come to domestic animals.
- Cell phones must be turned off during a lesson and it is preferred they are not carried on the person's body while riding.
- All garbage will be picked up and placed in the proper disposal units located around the farm.
- Smoking is NOT allowed in the barn, arena, stalls or doorways at anytime. Please spit chew in manure buckets.
